I just can't get over how precious sweet Hazel is. I think she may be what we needed to get us out of Missouri and down your way more often. Can't wait to see you guys again...we love you and are so extremely happy for you!

Ginny & Matt,
For most of Eliot's 99 days, I followed along reading your blog. And while we are total strangers, God, through the Holy Spirit, put your family in my heart. Along with hundreds of others who were also so moved, I cried, struggled with the Lord and rejoiced at the depth of your faith.
I'm crying again with tears of joy over baby Hazel. But still struggling with God as he brings me face to face with the folly of my own heart as I strive to make him a manageable God.
Scripture never promises that A + B = C. It does promise that every day in every situation I will be held by the righteous right hand of God.
Enjoy your precious baby girl.

Celebrating in Colorado! The pictures warm my heart!!!!!!!

After we got the news yesterday Ben wanted to call all his "old" friends and tell them about baby Hazel and then he wanted to tell all his "new" friends about baby Hazel. He walked into our playgroup (which we have only been to one other time, it would be a stretch to say they are our friends) and announced her arrival.

Much, much, love and excitement! JB (and fam)

P.S. LOVED reading your previous posts. Please, keep those thoughts coming. I am privileged to have you share them. Feels like we are at Starbucks.

I have been a follower for about 6 months now. I was shown this video while I was pregnant with my baby girl who is now 6 months yesterday. So our little ones are exactly from 14th-14th 6 months apart. Play-date in the future? LOL

I didn't realize you had a blog, I only knew of the website in which I have a link to from my blog. I would often watch the video from time to time, just thinking and remembering and being and feeling blessed.

When an email came to me today about the arrival of ELIOTS sisters..... I couldn't get to your blog(s) fast enough. I am so wonderfully thrilled, honored to be apart of this if from the sideline as an observer. Did I spell that correctly? Anyways...

WOW.... Beauty is hard to capture, but I think who ever shot that picture of her did a fantastic job of capturing BEAUTY in all its forms.

Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful? Isn't she precious?

Congratulations to mom, dad and big brother!!!! What a beautiful family of FOUR (4) you all make. Eliot will be a big brother I am sure, and he will along with God keep a close eye on her and look out for her.

All the love and support this little girl has....she has no idea the impact that Eliot is going to have on HER life. What a lucky little princess!!!!

Thank you for sharing.... thank you for being honest and real.

Gods plans are ALWAYS-ALWAYS-ALWAYS.... better than we planned.

The pain and the hurt of the loss of Eliot VERY REAL and always will be..... but yesterday I bet it is safe to assume that hurt was softened just a little bit more the moment you laid eyes on that beautiful healthy girl. Right?

GOD IS GOOD!

I look forward to being a new follower of Hazels life now too.... she has HER name and its HAZEL (not just Eliots little sister). She is one of her own.

I look forward to watching the blessing continued to unfold as the days, months and years go by.

God Bless.

I have just caught up on the blog. I did follow Elliots blog in the later parts.

This bitter sweet joy reminds me of the Cross. God must have felt such joy at being fully re-united with His children but extreme heart ache at the loss of His Son.

May God continue to bless you with the uniqueness of this sibling relationship as she grows.

Congrats on the new baby. I am from Mobile and I kept an eye on Elliot's blog when you all met Claire Cox and family. She looks a lot like Elliot and I bet he is just ecstatic to be a big brother. I bet he is there with Claire marveling over the joy of his little sister.

Congrats from Mobile!

P.S. I bet your excited Arkansas beat Auburn. Elliot probably loved to watch his hogs beat Auburn.

I have read and re-read Eliot's story so many times I feel like I know you. There are so many lessons that taught me things in a different way about how to walk with God on a deeper level. I have always struggled with the control aspect of things. My "what ifs" are always enticing me to worry. Some days it is hard to trust God fully.

So, on today when you have something so pure and right, it is easy to see why I loved your other blog in the first place. Two people loving and trusting God without reserve regardless of the pain and loss endured. I am so happy for you. She is an absolute beauty and I love the pictures of her.

Thank you for sharing the story of your wonderful family, especially that of Eliot. Our lives seem to parallel in that my husband and I quite recently held our precious Sofia Victoriana while she passed to be with Our Father. As a parent of a child with Trisomy 18, we saw the beauty of God's grace in our daughter in every hour we spent with her in the 26 days she was with us. While the emotion of loss is still very raw for us, we are so very grateful for the generosity of love and spirit that our family and friends have shown to our little family.
Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter, she's so blessed to have such loving parents and the legacy of grace through her older brother, Eliot.

Congratulations, Matt and Ginny! We are all rejoicing with you upon the birth of your little one, knowing that the place that was Eliot's will remain and at the same time welcoming this little person who will create a place of her own. Thanks so much for the pictures and for the update. Looking forward to the new blog.

Hello to a beautiful family and to a sister and brother in Christ! I am a Labor & Delivery RN and have been attending a perinatal bereavement training Course for the past 2 days, where one of our speakers told me to check out your "99 balloons" video. I know you must be overjoyed at the same time as you enter a new stage of grieving. Praise God for His faithfulness as He carries you through your journey. May He bless His ministry through you! you both are such an inspiration to me. i myself am a mother of two and couldn't imagine life without them or how life was before them it seems like this is all i have known to be a mother. your son is so beautiful an i say that in a present tense for he is still among you guys and your great family. As for your new little girl she is to, she will always carry a little piece of elliot in her. she has two wonderful parents i praise you guys for your efforts in making a difference and reaching out for those other families who are in need as well. i'll keep keep you guys and all the other families in my prayers i also want you to know that you both give me hope for i do not have a child with as severe disorder as you all but my son has asthma and he struggles everyday with it being only 2. it worries me alone with just that but you guys have overcome worse than i and still have hope and faith to move forward. i admire that in people. keep it up you both are doing a tremendous job. kendal landrum somerset, ky

Your faith amazes me! In searching for something else on myspace I happened upon Eliots video. As a first time Mom of an 8 month old girl I couldn't imagine the pain of losing her. So needles to say I cried my eyes out! The thing that really got to me was that you to had such strong faith from the begining and you took Eliot's disablity as a blessing. From the very begining it seems as though Eliot has inspired you to grow even closer to God. This is such a love story not only for you two and Eliot but also between you guys and God. I know your story has definately inspired me and I hope it has helped others grow closer God. Congratualtions on Hazel by the way she is beautiful!
