Believe it or not...

We are attempting to get the word out to our friends since we know they will kill us if we do not tell them. With no further ado:

Oprah is doing a segment on Eliot on the show coming up on Tuesday, October 28 (this date could change, and we'll let you know if it does). The show is on "Miracle children" and Eliot is the only one not still on this earth. Honestly, at first we were hesitant when approached with the whole idea. However, having already taped the show, we feel honored to tell Eliot's story through this platform. The Oprah crew did a great job throughout of simply telling Eliot's story and nothing else. And we are appreciative to them for the opportunity.

So, spread the word if you want, and tune in as the Lord continues to take a little boy and make Himself known.

I just have to take a moment to tell you that you have touched my heart right through to my soul. I recently viewed the 99 Balloons video at my national nursing conference (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nursing) as an example of the importance of ritual. What a beautiful job you did in capturing your precious child and all of the ways you celebrated his very BIG, yet very short life. I, too, am a Christian and was absolutely put on this earth to walk the journey of having a sick child with the amazingly courageous families I serve who have children with cancer. You have provided such an incredible example of savoring each and every day and of honoring a life no matter how short. My practice has been impacted greatly by your story and I pray that I can inspire the hope that I have seen in you, in my patients parents.

You are a true blessing - i cannot wait to see this story! Congratulations also on the birth of your daughter!

Even though we have never met, you hold a special place in my heart. I work at one of the few hospitals in southern California that has a perinatal hospice program and have watched Eliots video many times. I've shown it to people at work as we strive to grow our program and make what we do a special reality. Thank you for sharing your life and little son with us. I will watch on Tuesday and be thinking of you.

Dear Matt and Ginny - I saw the Oprah segment about your wonderful son, Eliot, today.

I just wanted to share with you how much Eliot's story touched my heart.

My husband and I are expecting our first child, a little girl, in March. We learned last week that there is a chance she has Trisomy 18.

Eliot's story gives us so much hope and comfort. And so much peace to know that if our girl is faced with the same challenges Eliot faced, her life, however long or short it may be, can be filled with immense joy and love.

Thank you for sharing Eliot's story.

It's a success story and I'm glad it'll be shared at the same time as the stories of miracle children that are alive on Earth. I look forward to seeing Elliot in Heaven.

Okay, so I've been boycotting Oprah, but leave it to Eliot Mooney to make me cave. :) That's the way to get Jesus' name on Oprah!!!!

What a beautiful, beautiful legacy your boy has! I first watched his video in the last days of my pregnancy with my baby girl, whom we had been told had a serious neurological condition threatening her life, and in her five days on this earth, I knew to celebrate each and every day partly because of your precious example. How incredible.

Eliot, you're a great big brother. Give Miller Grace some tips and tell her to get ready! Our baby's coming in April! :)

Yesterday I came home to find my 12 and 15 year old boys crying in the living room. They had just watched Eliot's story on Oprah and insisted that I sit down right that second and watch. 10 minutes later all three of us were sobbing, not in sadness however; in awe of the love and faith that you both showed. All three of us learned more from your family in that few minutes than we could ever imagine. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes and please know that your family will be in my prayers.

i found your websites after watching the oprah show and what an amazing testimony is the life of eliot! after it was over i went in search of the 99 balloons video so i could share it with my husband and we sat and watched it and cried, actually sobbed, together. the truth and conviction (in a good way) that it brought was incredible. we just recently had our first son, gideon, 4 months ago after 6 yrs of trying and 2 miscarriages and we held him and watched and listened to eliot's life and we were reminded once again of the amazing gift of life we've been given and every time i look at my son i think of eliot and appreciate you all opening your hearts and story to the world. life is a precious gift and daily that is forgotten, thank you for allowing eliot to remind so many, including us. we take so much for granted and let so many important things slip by, but God certainly has used eliot to be a reminder of treasuring it all!

blessings to you and to little hazel!

Matt and Ginny, I saw the story of eliots life on Oprah and you have truly touched my heart. I had a baby girl on Oct 3 and was suffering from a little depression afterwards. After seeing you on Oprah I decided to open my eyes to what life is truly about. I look at my girls completely differently and feel so blessed that God has given them to me. thank you for sharing his story of his life to all of us.

Matt and Ginny,
What a wonderful tribute "99 Balloons" is to the love between parents and a child. I have a dear friend who gave birth to twin girls a month ago and one baby has Trisomy 18, like Eliot did. You two are well aware of what they are going through right now---then times two! I know it would mean so much to my friend and her husband to get a word of encouragement from you. Would that be possible? They are both Christians and know they will see their little girl again but it is still very difficult to let her go so soon. I will forward an email address or street address if you would be willing to contact them. Congratulations on the birth of Hazel and may God bess your family richly.

Hello, im Catarina, from Portugal, and i was watching oprah right now (we have a channel that puts the show on air everyday)and it was the episode of the miracle children. i had to search for the site about Eliot. So touching and it was, after all, so brave of you, the way you deal with everything. So entusiastic about each day with him..and that is what life is about. But i must tell you that i cried a lot.. You gave a meaning to his life, even if he was so young to understand. Maybe he had more love and attention around him than some people have in their entire lifes. Im just writing to wish you all the best with Hazel! Appreciate each day with her, the way you did with Eliot.

Have a great life.
Catarina.
