Ketchup

Miss Thing’s 4-month checkup is in the past. She is loving grabbing here toes lately, and is showing sure signs of genius by rolling over early. We like to say that we can now describe her as “sweet”. This label was not appropriate for the first 3 months of her life. She smiles, laughs, and drools quite a bit. And I must say, she is quite a looker.

Ginny is loving life. She actually described waking up and having that “heart racing” feeling that a preteen may be expected to have when the Jonas Brothers take the stage, as the way she felt about waking up on a typical day and getting to be mom to our precious gal.

Me? I am seeing the haze that has been life lately. I think this recognition might signal that I am coming out of it. No complaints. Not a spiritual drought or a low-point- although, both could describe glimpses of the whole picture. It has just been a little wild as of late. That feeling that I am behind in every area of life has constantly tailed me.

All this, knowing that anytime I feel the least bit morose on any subject, I dismiss it as quite ridiculous. Having been to what I will affectionately call the pit of Hell, most anything else pails in comparison and seems not to deserve the thought or effort to work through.

Wow, I am not sure I knew this until I just wrote it. Well, now you and I both know. I am sure this is some sort of syndrome or the like, but please don’t tell me about it. Naivety is bliss when you have issues.

I am deadset on reviving this blog. Or at least quit acting like I am going to blog and not doing so. So I propose a little something-something.

I am going to post 7 posts in 7 days. I know that is right up there with the passage of the stimulus bill. Please hold your exuberance.

It will force me to be creative, and who knows, maybe it will be fun. Or I will fail. That could be fun as well.

But come back on Monday and Tuesday and….you get the idea.

Matt - I'll be back. I've got you on my reader, so I'll see it every time you post. I had a bit of a drought around Christmas, and I'm still not quite back to normal. It'll come. And we'll all be glad to visit with you.

Matt,

I just enjoy what ever you write when you post. You will catch up with the things that are important in your new life and the rest will not be as important. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and enjoy your little Miss Thing. Daddys are so precious in a little girls life and this little girl is absolutely beautiful in every way. I love that Ginny is loving life, it makes my heart full. I will be back to read all of your posts. Have a wonderful night.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

Woo Hoo! I know you asked nicely, but I would prefer to not hold my exuberance.

I've checked your blog every day since your last post (no stalking, just love your writing), and am thrilled you are back. 7 blogs in 7 days is a great goal. Praying for you always, as even the blessings sometimes remind us of what we lost...I know where you are coming from.

I do inner city work, and I understand so well the seasons of drought. The rain will come again. It always does ... I love how my dear friend Erika Haub described the return of water once, in a post on prayer: http://erika.haub.net/dear-god/08/

As for the next seven days, I'll be here every day. I love the way you write and the way you live. (And I'm so happy for Ginny too.)

Good to see a new post. I was getting ready to remove you from Winnie's blog list. You've got to work to keep status like that. I'll believe a post a day when I see it.
I like the new template. That last one drove me nuts.
I am always praying for the Mooneys. Give Hazel a smooch for me.

Good luck on the blogs. I'm glad you're back to writing.

Warm hugs to you, Ginny, and Hazel.

Matt- still waiting for tonight's post... Hopefully it is taking a while because it is loaded with Hazel pics! We thoroughly enjoy reading your posts, but randomly placed baby pics work wonders. Can't wait for your next post (literally, it's late for me). Spend all the time you can get with with Miss Hazel and post when you can we'll get over it, we've never been accused of posting too often either!

I love your words...just so you know you aren't alone in your feelings. I referred to it as 'the funk' in my blog posts. That was the best way I could describe it.Those first few months/year after losing Annelise was full of funk...it does get better and life seems to be 'funk' free a good majority of the time!!

Good luck with your posts...I can't wait to read them!

You are actually responsible in some way for my blog reading addiction. Our pastor showed 99 balloons one Sunday, Elliot's story touched me so profoundly, I found your blog, and it led me to many others and now it is one of my favorite things to do when I have a free minute. I love the pics of little miss. Hopefully the 7 days of posts will be full of pictures!
